Every story has a beginning, here is ours…

We used to keep the Bulls Head Pub down the road as The Brewery Tap for Shottle Farm Brewery. When we gave it up, we moved lock stock and barrel (including the old pub sign) to the farm where it sat for quite some time until we decided to open The Brewery Tap on the farm.

An American called Monty who was volunteering with us at the time was looking at the old signage letters, and said:

Our eyes lit up… The Bull Shed was born ! It seemed so apt as the kitchen was actually the old bull shed and where you sit to dine, was the collecting parlour for the cows en route to the milking parlour, which is now the brewery.

The old bull shed and collecting parlour were transformed into The Bull Shed by Tony himself in 2013 supported by a fab team of local friends…a great example of one of Tony and Sue`s many visions coming to fruition.

Recently to accompany the broadening of our vision at the farm, we have made some changes to our Website and social media platforms and thanks to this awesome and rather talented french volunteer Hugo, we created four logos for the core different parts of the farm. The one for The Bull Shed was inspired by this painting and the warm feeling that makes The Bull Shed this special place, warm in the winter and cool in the summer !

Painted with love and given to us by local friend and artist Jenny OLDKNOW…. you can find the original of this in The Bull Shed opposite the entrance !

Hugo showing Tony the grapghic design ideas behind the logo, taking direct inspirations from the original painting by Jenny. A piece of art that has a special place in Tony’s heart !

Bringing back the famous face of the bull surronded by a wooden halo, on a wine and meaty red, honouring the grounded warmness of what makes The Bull Shed special 1

Here is how it works, step by step and just for you ! Don’t need to take a notebook you can go back anytime to check what you need… Open Friday & Saturday 6pm-10pm
