Sunshine Forest School Holiday Clubs are back! We are so excited about our new site in the woods at Handley Farm for fun, adventure, learning, movement and imagination.
Our sessions run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and cost £30 per child. We will focus on all things Forest School – building dens, making fires, and lots of mindful and creative activities. We will also cook our own snacks on the campfire and learn some bushcraft skills.
There is a huge scope for learning in the woods, learning about animal habitats, nature walks, discovering mini beasts and building mini beast hotels. Children have a chance to use their imagination with fairy forest activities, building on their creativity, doing forest crafts, making teddy homes, making natural music, using natural forest materials, making clay creatures, designing bird feeders, designing masks, story-making, and telling. having loads of fun building shelters, going on adventure walks, splashing in puddles, painting with mud, making up scavenger hunts, and playing plenty of outdoor games.
Forest school is all child-led play, facilitated by fully trained adults who are there to make sure the children have a great day.
We shall be cooking on the campfire, but a packed lunch will be required.
Please ensure children have activity clothes: waterproof trousers and coat, layers of clothing, A CHANGE OF CLOTHES and walking boots/wellies, spare socks.
Forest School Holiday Club will go ahead whatever the weather unless it is considered dangerous to do so (either in the event of very strong winds or an electrical storm). If this is the case you will get a full refund, unless a mutually acceptable alternative date can be arranged.
Full risk assessments of the site, tools used, and all core activities have been carried out to ensure that participants are as safe as possible and the risks involved in the activities are properly managed.
All parents/guardians to complete the necessary consent forms prior to the session.
Children may get dirty, muddy, or wet and will most definitely have had PLENTY of fun!
